The Prime Minister of Pakistan revealed that the United States and Iran, along with their allies on both sides, have reached a ceasefire agreement across all areas, including Lebanon, with preparations underway for peace talks in Islamabad.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif posted on social media, "I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, together with their allies, have agreed to a ceasefire in all areas, including Lebanon, effective immediately."
This ceasefire marks a significant development that could help reduce the intensity of conflicts in the Middle East, which have spread across several countries.
The Prime Minister added that Islamabad will host delegations from both sides this Friday to commence talks aimed at reaching a concrete peace agreement.
He also expressed hope that the talks, called the "Islamabad Talks," will lead to lasting peace and that there may be further positive news in the coming days.
Previously, both Iran and the United States announced acceptance of a two-week ceasefire agreement less than an hour before the deadline set by President Donald Trump, who had threatened to destroy Iran's infrastructure and civilization if Iran did not agree to a ceasefire.
