Iran's Foreign Minister called on the U.S. to choose between maintaining the ceasefire agreement or continuing the war through Israel, after the Israeli government kept attacking Lebanon continuously.
On 8 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, stated that the terms of the two-week ceasefire agreement between Iran and the U.S. are clear, and challenged that the U.S. government must choose between upholding the ceasefire or pursuing what he called a “continuing war through Israel.”
“The ceasefire terms between Iran and the U.S. are clear and explicit: the U.S. must choose between ceasefire or continuing war through Israel. It cannot have both,” Araghchi posted on the platform X.
Additionally, Araghchi addressed the situation in Lebanon, stating that the world is witnessing a massacre there. “Now the ball is in the U.S. court, and the world is watching to see if the U.S. will honor its commitments.”
Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a warning that it will retaliate if the “aggression” against Lebanon does not stop immediately, according to a report by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) this morning.
