Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, confirmed that Iran remains determined to avenge his father and all who died in the war, amid a fragile ceasefire atmosphere between the U.S. and Iran.
On 9 Apr 2026 GMT+7, CNN reported that Iran released a new statement attributed to Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, declaring that Iran remains committed to "avenging" his father who was killed, as well as everyone who died in the war.
He added that Iran does not seek war but will not give up its rights. "In this regard, we consider the entire Resistance Front united as one."
"We will definitely demand compensation for all damages caused, including reparations for the blood of the martyrs and compensation for those wounded in this war."
The statement also said that Iran will bring the management of the Strait of Hormuz into a "new phase."
