Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei issued a significant statement on state television, declaring that Iran has achieved victory over the United States and Israel, and announced the start of a new era in managing the Strait of Hormuz.
Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, stated that Iran has never desired war but will not relinquish its legitimate rights. He emphasized that all allied resistance groups are united, and controlling the Strait of Hormuz will mark the beginning of a new chapter of Iran’s power.
The statement also claimed that mistakes by the enemy will cause late 2026 (February–March) to become the starting point of a new phase elevating Iran’s role on the global stage.
The leader called on the public to help each other to ease pressures from shortages caused by the war, noting that even during periods when the military must remain silent or suspend operations, civilians still play a crucial role in various areas.
Khamenei also affirmed that Iran will not let those who attack the country go unpunished and will seek compensation for damages, including the price of the blood of all the dead and wounded.
In his statement, the Iranian leader sent a message to neighboring countries in the region, warning them to be cautious of false promises from great powers and urged them to take the right stance and cooperate with Iran.
The latest developments come amid uncertainty over a ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran, as the US pressures Iran to open the shipping route in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global oil transport.
Permanent negotiations are scheduled to begin in Islamabad, Pakistan, led by US Vice President JD Vance as head of the delegation.
