Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, reiterated that she is not involved in the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case and proposed that victims be allowed to testify before Congress.
On 10 April 2026 GMT+7, Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, issued a statement denying any connection to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier accused of sex trafficking, affirming that allegations linking her to Epstein should be put to rest.
In a statement at the White House, Melania said she had only briefly met Epstein in 2000 and never had any involvement in or knowledge of any wrongdoing.
At the same time, the First Lady called on Congress to conduct hearings to officially allow the victims in this case to testify under oath. This proposal has received some political support, with Congressman Robert Garcia of California expressing agreement and urging for a prompt investigation.
However, some victims and their families have voiced concerns that such a call might divert responsibility, noting that the victims have already fully cooperated with the justice process.
Additionally, Melania Trump denied rumors that her husband, Donald Trump, met her through Epstein, describing these as attempts to distort the facts. She also confirmed she does not know Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted defendant in the same case, emphasizing that previously leaked emails were merely routine communications.
Until now, Melania Trump has rarely appeared publicly. It is believed that her decision to defend herself now is likely to reignite debate about the Epstein investigation and related disclosures.
