
His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni The King of Cambodia has revealed that he is ill with prostate cancer and is preparing to remain in Beijing for treatment for at least one to two months. He also sent a message of goodwill to his people ahead of the Cambodian New Year festival.
The Cambodian Royal Palace released a royal letter from His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, disclosing that he is currently receiving treatment in Beijing, China, after doctors detected that he has prostate cancer.
The royal letter states that specialist doctors at a hospital in Beijing have confirmed the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Following their advice, the King must stay in Beijing to receive treatment and closely monitor his condition. As a result, he is unable to return to Cambodia at this time. It is expected he will remain hospitalized for about one to two months for treatment and recovery.
Despite undergoing treatment, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni took this opportunity to send a royal message expressing his good wishes to religious leaders, national leaders, and all Cambodian people on the occasion of the upcoming Cambodian New Year or Water Festival.
At the end of the royal letter, the King, together with Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, extended blessings for peace, prosperity, and happiness to the Cambodian people. They prayed for the protection of the Triple Gem and all sacred entities over the nation, and expressed gratitude to the people for their ongoing support and well-wishes for his health.
