Trump Confident He Will Reopen Strait of Hormuz Regardless of Irans Cooperation

Trump expressed confidence ahead of a crucial negotiation with Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan, emphasizing that the U.S. will reopen the shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz regardless of Iran's cooperation.

Before boarding Air Force One to attend a fundraising event in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Friday (local time), Trump told reporters about Vice President J.D. Vance, who has been assigned to lead the U.S. delegation in talks with Iran.

"I wish him luck. This is a big mission," Trump said. "We'll find out what happens, but militarily, they have already been defeated."

This statement reflects the U.S. leader's tough stance ahead of high-level talks closely watched as a potential turning point in Middle East tensions.

Trump also reaffirmed his confidence that the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil shipping route, will soon reopen after being blocked due to conflict. He stated that the U.S. is set to open the gulf whether Iran cooperates or not, but the strait will definitely be opened.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most strategic energy routes. Its closure significantly affects oil prices and global economic stability.

The talks in Islamabad aim to reduce tensions and find a resolution to the ongoing crisis, focusing especially on security issues in the Persian Gulf and freedom of navigation.

However, Trump's recent position declaring Iran militarily defeated and his insistence on reopening the Strait of Hormuz could increase pressure on the negotiations and keep the regional situation fragile.
