Iran Sends 71-Member Delegation to Pakistan for Talks with U.S., Spotlight on Trumps 15-Point Proposal

Iranian official media revealed that Iran has sent a delegation of as many as 71 people to Islamabad, Pakistan, to prepare for negotiations with the United States, reflecting the significance and complexity of these talks.

A report from Tasnim News Agency stated that the Iranian delegation traveling to Pakistan this time consists of as many as 71 members, including

  • the main negotiators,
  • technical experts,
  • media representatives,
  • and security officials.

Sources say the large team was assembled to handle highly sensitive discussions. The Iranian delegation is led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also part of the negotiation team.

Partial disclosure of Trump's "15-point proposal"

Although full details of the U.S. government's proposal have not been revealed, reports indicate that Donald Trump's 15-point plan includes key points such as requiring Iran to guarantee it will not develop nuclear weapons, handing over enriched uranium, limiting its defense capabilities, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

It is reported that the U.S. has also sent a large high-level delegation to participate in the talks, led by

  • JD Vance, U.S. Vice President,
  • Steve Witkoff, Special Envoy,
  • and Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law.

The deployment of a large Iranian delegation and the stringent U.S. proposal have drawn attention to the Pakistan talks as potentially a critical turning point in the Middle East crisis, especially concerning Iran's nuclear program, the Strait of Hormuz, and security in the Persian Gulf—all of which directly impact the global economy and energy.
