JD Vance, the U.S. Vice President, has arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan, to prepare for negotiations with Iran scheduled for the same day.
Reports state that Vance traveled with a senior negotiation team including Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump. The U.S. delegation departed their country the previous day en route to Pakistan for these crucial talks.
Before departing, Vance told reporters he looked forward to the negotiations but clearly warned Iran against attempting to "play games" with the U.S., stating Washington would not accept such behavior. This reflects the firm U.S. stance ahead of the discussions.
Meanwhile, Islamabad has intensified security measures over the past several days, increasing personnel, closing multiple roads, and controlling key areas to support the high-level talks between the two countries. The Iranian delegation arrived earlier to prepare for the official negotiations.
The U.S.-Iran meeting is viewed as a potentially pivotal moment for Middle East affairs, especially regarding nuclear programs, security in the Persian Gulf, and reopening shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz—issues that significantly affect the global economy and energy markets.
