Britney Spears Chooses to Enter Rehab After DUI Arrest

Britney Spears has voluntarily entered a rehabilitation center to recover her health after being arrested last month for driving under the influence of both alcohol and drugs. Her representative described this as a major life change aimed at long-term success and well-being.

Multiple U.S. media outlets reported unanimously that Britney Spears, the 44-year-old superstar singer, officially entered rehab on Sunday (12 Apr), just one month after being arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The arrest occurred on 4 March when California Highway Patrol officers received reports of a BMW driving at high speed and dangerously swerving on the highway. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers found Spears visibly intoxicated and failing field sobriety tests at the scene. Her representative admitted the incident was "unforgivable" and said close associates are urgently preparing a long-overdue recovery plan to help her return to a normal life.

Spears' representative told the BBC, "Britney is choosing to do the right thing and comply with the law. We hope this will be the first step toward the change that should have happened in her life long ago. She will receive the necessary help and support during this difficult time, and her children will spend time with her as well."

This rehabilitation decision comes just three weeks before she is scheduled to appear in a California court to face DUI charges.

Britney Spears is one of the most successful pop artists of all time, yet her personal life has faced ongoing turmoil. She was under a legal conservatorship overseen by her father for more than 13 years, which ended in 2021 amid global fan scrutiny over her freedom and mental health.
