Iran and Pakistan have scheduled talks in Tehran today after Pakistan offered to act as a communication intermediary between the U.S. and Iran amid efforts to revive new negotiation rounds.
Iran and Pakistan are preparing for important talks on Thursday in Tehran to discuss the content of negotiations exchanged between Iran and the United States after talks in Pakistan fell through last Sunday.
According to Tasnim News Agency, the talks will include Iranian officials and Pakistani Army Commander Asim Munir to discuss progress in diplomatic communications between Tehran and Washington.
Previously, Asim Munir arrived in Iran on Wednesday and met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The Pakistani delegation led by Munir brought a message from the United States, according to the Pakistan Army's disclosure.
After the meeting, Abbas Araghchi said he was very pleased to welcome the Pakistani military leader and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
However, it remains unclear whether Abbas Araghchi will participate in the official talks scheduled for Thursday.
These developments occur while Iran and the United States continue to exchange messages through Pakistan, which plays a key intermediary role amid diplomatic efforts to push for a new round of negotiations between the two countries.
The situation is being closely monitored as it may affect the future direction of Iran-U.S. relations and the stability of the Middle East region.
