Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire Takes Effect for 10 Days, Citizens Rejoice and Return Home After Intense Fighting

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon has officially come into effect. Leaders from both sides support peace, while Lebanese citizens celebrate and begin returning to southern regions.

The 10-day ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon took effect early this morning after being announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, amid hopes of reducing tensions in the Middle East.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun expressed his congratulations on the agreement, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a historic opportunity for peace.

Although the agreement has begun, shortly before its enforcement, the Iran-backed Hezbollah group continued retaliatory attacks against Israeli forces.

Hezbollah stated it would adhere to the ceasefire under certain conditions, reflecting the fragile situation in the area.

Following the ceasefire's implementation, many Lebanese citizens came out to celebrate with relief, some gathering in the streets while others started convoying back home.

This is especially true in the southern part of the country, which suffered heavy Israeli attacks for over a month, forcing large-scale evacuations.

This ceasefire is viewed as a critical moment that could pave the way for long-term negotiations or possibly serve only as a temporary truce.

The situation remains under close watch to see if Israel, Lebanon, and Hezbollah can uphold the 10-day ceasefire amid global hopes for genuine peace in the region.
