Los Angeles police arrested "David Anthony Burke," known as "D4vd," a rising TikTok singer famous for the hit song Romantic Homicide, after discovering human remains of a missing teenage girl hidden in his Tesla. A tattoo on the victim's finger closely resembled one on the singer's finger.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed the arrest of 21-year-old David Anthony Burke, known as the popular artist D4vd, on charges of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who had been missing since 2024. He is currently held without bail.
The shocking case surfaced on 8 September 2025 after reports of a strong foul odor emanating from a Tesla parked in a tow lot in Hollywood. Upon inspection, authorities found the head and torso of a teenage girl packed in body bags hidden inside the car's front trunk, which was registered in the singer’s name and Texas address.
Forensic experts reported the body was severely decomposed and estimated the victim had died several weeks before discovery. Shockingly, the deceased had a tattoo reading "Shhh…" on her index finger, identical to a tattoo on D4vd's own finger.
Court records reveal that a grand jury began considering the case in December, summoning the singer’s family from Texas to testify. Documents disclosed that D4vd was the "primary target" of the murder investigation.
Previously, authorities searched the singer’s Hollywood Hills mansion, located just a few blocks from where the car was found. His representatives stated only that he is cooperating with the investigation.
Following the discovery, D4vd immediately canceled his global concert tour and withdrew from social media. Leading brands such as Hollister and Crocs have ended all advertising campaigns with him, and fellow singer Kali Uchis removed their collaborative track "Crashing" from streaming platforms.
Police will present the suspect to the district attorney on 20 April to proceed with formal charges according to legal procedures.
