Iran Heats Up! Plans to Control Strait of Hormuz Again, Accusing U.S. of Breaking Agreement

Iran has announced it will reinstate measures to control navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, accusing the United States of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement between the two parties.

The Iranian military stated that restrictions on vessel passage through the strait have been reinstated after the U.S. continues its maritime blockade against Iran.

Just hours earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posted on platform X that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for normal ship passage. However, Iranian state media later reported that Iranian armed forces will fully oversee ship transit, and such navigation will be considered illegal if the maritime blockade persists.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed that the maritime blockade of Iranian ports will remain in effect until a comprehensive agreement with the Tehran government is reached.

An Iranian military spokesperson further revealed that Iran has allowed some oil tankers and commercial vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz recently, while the U.S. continues to repeatedly breach trust, engaging in acts resembling maritime piracy under the pretext of the blockade.

Iran emphasized that control over the Strait of Hormuz will remain under strict management by its armed forces until the U.S. ends the blockade on ships entering and leaving Iranian ports.
