President Donald Trump stated that he has found numerous significant and "interesting" documents about UFOs and plans to disclose them publicly soon, after directing an expedited review of extraterrestrial data.
President Donald Trump said during a speech at the Turning Point USA event in Phoenix that the U.S. Department of Defense is preparing to release "interesting documents" related to unexplained aerial phenomena, or UAP, in the near future.
Trump told the crowd, "As everyone recalls, I instructed the Secretary of Defense to begin the process of declassifying government files related to UFOs. This process is progressing well, and I must say we have found many interesting documents. The first batch of disclosures will begin soon."
A Pentagon spokesperson later stated that the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) is closely coordinating with the White House to compile all records related to UAPs and is accelerating the release of previously undisclosed information to the public, in line with the president's commitment to transparency.
Trump's directive began in February after he assigned Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and various agency officials to thoroughly examine files related to "extraterrestrial life."
This move comes amid pressure from members of Congress, notably Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who has called for the Pentagon to release 46 video evidences obtained from UAP investigations. She emphasized that lack of transparency on this matter poses a national security threat, as these objects have appeared in sensitive airspace near U.S. military bases.
Meanwhile, Representative Tim Burchett, another key advocate on this issue, posted on social media thanking Trump, saying, "Thank you for keeping your promise to me."
Despite preparations for a major document release, in November 2024 the Pentagon reported that although it received hundreds of UAP reports, including 21 cases exhibiting unusual behavior, officials "have not found evidence proving the existence of extraterrestrial life."
Additionally, a report from early 2024 noted that most sightings were misidentifications of ordinary objects or natural phenomena. However, the new documents Trump described as "very interesting" may hold the key to unlocking secrets the government has concealed for decades.
