Donald Trump posted a message urging Iran to release eight women reportedly facing execution, stating that their release would be a good start for negotiations.
On 21 Apr 2026 GMT+7, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social calling on Iran to release eight women who, according to online posts, are about to be executed. Trump said freeing them would be “an excellent start to our negotiations.”
“To the leaders of Iran, who will soon negotiate with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women. I am confident they will respect what you do. Please do not harm them! It would be a fantastic beginning for our negotiations!!!” Trump stated.
Trump’s post included a screenshot from X user Eyal Yakoby, showing photos of eight women he claimed were about to be executed by the Iranian government, with no attention from the international community or human rights organizations.
Fox News and other media identified one of these women (top right photo) as Bita Hemmati, a female protester linked to the January 2026 uprising in Tehran. The identities of the other women remain uncertain.
