Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, has departed Pakistan after meeting with several senior officials, coinciding with a U.S. delegation's journey to Islamabad.
CNN reported, citing sources, that Abbas Araghchi left Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, on the evening of Saturday, 25 Apr 2026 GMT+7, after concluding meetings with the Prime Minister and Pakistan's Army Chief.
Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Friday evening to hold talks with various senior Pakistani leaders, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir, who serves as a key mediator between Tehran and Washington.
At this stage, Araghchi's next destination remains unclear; however, Iran's Foreign Ministry had previously stated he plans to visit Oman and Russia during this trip.
Meanwhile, Pakistani ministers are facilitating efforts to arrange a second round of negotiations between U.S. and Iranian officials after lengthy talks earlier in April failed to resolve their conflict.
The U.S. White House announced on Friday that a U.S. delegation would arrive in Islamabad this weekend. However, Iranian media have denied reports that Araghchi engaged in direct talks with U.S. officials during his Pakistan visit, leaving the status of negotiations uncertain.
