U.S. Marines seized another ship in the Arabian Sea as part of blockade operations, suspecting that the vessel was heading to Iran, before releasing it later.
On 28 Apr 2026, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced via a post on platform X that U.S. Marines had seized a ship in the Arabian Sea after suspecting it was en route to Iran, before later releasing it.
CENTCOM stated that Marines from Marine Expeditionary Unit 31 (MEU 31) temporarily seized the M/V Blue Star III amid ongoing U.S. blockade operations targeting Iranian ports.
"U.S. forces released the vessel after searching it and confirming that its route did not include any Iranian ports," CENTCOM said.
To date, the U.S. has ordered 39 ships to alter their routes under the blockade measures.
Meanwhile, General Dan Kinn, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said at the Pentagon last week that the U.S. has seized at least three vessels — M/V Touska, M/T Tifani, and M/T Majestic X — all of which remain under U.S. control.
