Trump Prepares to Hear Additional Military Plans Against Iran, Seeking to Pressure Tehran to Soften Nuclear Negotiations

U.S. media reveal that Donald Trump is preparing to consider additional military options against Iran after employing maritime blockade measures to pressure Tehran, while Iran emphasizes its readiness to fully defend its nuclear program and missile capabilities.

On 30 April 2026 GMT+7, foreign news agencies reported that U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to hear additional military operation plans against Iran amid U.S. efforts to increase pressure on Tehran to make concessions in nuclear negotiations.

The report cites sources saying the U.S. military is preparing a swift but intense strike aimed at compelling Iran to show greater flexibility regarding demands about its nuclear program.

Previously, Trump was seen using maritime blockades and trade route pressures rather than full-scale air strikes to strengthen his bargaining position with Iran, especially around the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil shipping route.

Meanwhile, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, issued a statement via state media affirming Iran’s readiness to protect its nuclear and missile capabilities, which are considered national assets, and stressed Iran’s exclusive right to manage the Strait of Hormuz.

At the same time, The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. is pushing for multiple countries to join a coalition force to secure maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz under U.S. leadership, focusing on intelligence sharing and enforcing sanctions against Iran.
