Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson revealed that the U.S. has responded to their latest proposal through Pakistan, and Tehran is currently reviewing the U.S. reply.
On 3 May 2026, Esmail Bagaei, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, stated that the United States has replied to Iran's latest proposal by sending it through Pakistan, which is acting as an intermediary, and that their government is now reviewing Washington's response.
In a live broadcast on state television last Sunday, Bagaei said, “Iran's 14-point proposal does not include nuclear issues. At this stage, our main objective is to end wars in the region, including in Lebanon.”
Additionally, Bagaei stated, “The U.S. claims about clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz are fundamentally not part of our plan.”
This development follows Donald Trump’s recent post on Truth Social, where he said he might not accept Iran’s proposal because he believes Iran has not compensated enough.
“I will review the plan Iran just sent us soon, but I can’t imagine it being acceptable when they have not paid a high enough price for what they have done to humanity and the world over the past 47 years,” Trump’s post said.
