A severe fire broke out inside a shopping center near Tehran, Iran, causing at least 8 deaths and injuring 36 others, according to reports from state television.
The fire occurred last Tuesday at the Arghavan Shopping Center located in Andisheh city near Tehran. The exact cause remains unknown and is currently under investigation by authorities.
Video footage from the scene showed firefighters rapidly mobilizing to control the intense flames, while thick black smoke billowed from the multi-story building, alarming nearby residents.
Reports indicate that fires in commercial buildings like this pose high risks because they are enclosed spaces with many people and contain flammable materials such as shops and warehouses, making fire control difficult.
So far, there is no indication that this fire is linked to military conflicts, especially during the fragile ceasefire period between Iran and the United States that has lasted about three weeks.
Authorities are currently investigating the fire's cause and the building's safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
