Explosion on Chartered Boat in Miami Bay Injures Dozens Investigation Underway

A chartered boat exploded in Biscayne Bay near a popular tourist spot in Miami, Florida, United States, resulting in at least 11 people injured.

The Associated Press reported that the incident occurred at approximately 12:48 p.m. local time on Saturday, 10 May. Miami-Dade rescue officials received reports of a boat explosion while the vessel was afloat in Biscayne Bay, a well-known water tourism destination in Florida.

Initially, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission stated that several passengers were aboard the chartered boat at the time, and the explosion caused numerous injuries among them.


After the alert, more than 24 rescue units were dispatched immediately. Rescue teams revealed they found multiple injured individuals requiring urgent medical attention and transported at least 11 injured people to nearby hospitals.

However, authorities have not yet disclosed details about the severity of the injuries or the total number of passengers on board at the time of the explosion.

Meanwhile, the United States Coast Guard also joined the rescue operation and the investigation at the scene. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed that the cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.

"Holover Sandbar" is a popular leisure and boating spot for tourists in Miami, which has drawn significant attention in the U.S. and online due to the boat explosion occurring in a busy tourist area during the weekend.
