Iran Responds to Latest U.S. Proposal, Affirms Talks Are Not Surrender

Iranian media reveal that the Tehran government has sent a response to the latest U.S. peace proposal, while the Iranian president emphasizes that negotiations do not mean surrender.

On 10 May 2026 GMT+7, Iranian government media disclosed that Iran has responded to the latest U.S. proposal aimed at ending the conflict that began in late February, sending the reply through Pakistan, which serves as an intermediary.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran's response to the latest U.S. draft proposal intended to end the war was delivered today via a Pakistani intermediary," reported the state-run IRNA news agency on Sunday.

However, Iran did not reveal details of the response, only stating that "within the proposed framework, the current stage of negotiations will focus on ending the regional war."

Although Iran has responded to the latest U.S. proposal, senior Iranian leaders issued a defiant statement regarding the prospects of these negotiations.

"We will never bow to the enemy, and if discussions or negotiations are mentioned, that does not mean surrender or retreat," Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian posted on the platform X.

"On the contrary, our goal is to preserve the rights of the Iranian nation and to defend the nation's interests with strength and determination."

Meanwhile, Ebrahim Raeisi, a member of Iran's parliamentary National Security Council, wrote, "Time is running out for the Americans. It is in their own interest not to act rashly and to avoid sinking deeper into the quagmire they have created themselves."

"The best option is to surrender and concede. You must adapt to the new regional order," Raeisi added.
