Bulgaria Makes History by Winning Eurovision for the First Time Israel Takes Second Place

Dara, the famous Bulgarian pop singer, made history by leading her country to its first-ever victory in the Eurovision Song Contest. Israel, which faced boycotts from several countries, came in second, while the United Kingdom once again finished last.

The annual Eurovision Song Contest, held in Vienna, Austria, concluded with a historic win for Bulgaria after 27-year-old singer Dara took the top prize with her dance song "Bangaranga," earning a total of 516 points. She outscored Israel, which placed second with 343 points, and Romania in third with 296 points.

Dara, who was not considered a favorite before the competition, defied expectations with a spectacular performance that combined intricate dance moves with Bulgaria's traditional Kukeri folk culture, which uses masks to ward off evil spirits, making her act the standout of the night.
