Donald Trump posted another warning to Iran that time is running out as negotiations have stalled, urging Iran to act quickly before they lose everything.
On 17 May 2026, US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social to warn Iran that "time is running out" as the negotiation process between the two countries to end the war remains at a standstill with no sign of progress.
"For Iran, time is running out and they should move quickly and decisively, or they will lose everything. Time is of the essence," Trump’s post stated.
This message came as President Trump was scheduled to hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday (17 May) local time.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that the US has failed to offer any concrete concessions in response to Tehran’s latest proposal to end the conflict, emphasizing that Washington’s lack of compromise will lead the negotiations to a "deadlock."
Trump's latest message reflects his previous threat that "all civilization" would be destroyed if Iran did not agree to the war-ending proposal, a warning issued shortly before the ceasefire agreement announcement in early April.
Earlier this week, the US president warned that the ceasefire deal was on "life support" after he rejected Tehran’s demands, labeling those demands as "completely unacceptable."
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bagaei insisted that their proposal is "responsible" and "generous."
Tasnim News Agency, a semi-official Iranian media outlet, reported that the proposals include an immediate ceasefire on all fronts, including in Lebanon where Israel continues to attack Hezbollah, lifting naval blockades on Iranian ports, and guarantees of no future attacks on Iran.
The proposals also call for war damage reparations and emphasize Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
