NASA announced contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars to several private space companies, including Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin, to develop lunar landers, rovers, and drones supporting future moon exploration missions.

The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars to several private space companies to support moon exploration missions under the Artemis program. Astrolab was awarded a contract worth $219 million, approximately 8 billion baht, to build and deliver a lunar surface rover, while Lunar Outpost received another $220 million contract to develop a similar vehicle. Blue Origin was granted a $188 million contract to transport these rovers to the lunar surface using its uncrewed Mark 1 lander.

This project is part of NASA's long-term plan to expand human space exploration and prepare for future deep space missions.

In addition, NASA selected Firefly Aerospace to develop a spacecraft for transporting drones from Earth orbit to the moon under the MoonFall mission, scheduled for launch in 2028.

The updated Artemis plan, initiated during President Donald Trump's administration, aims to build infrastructure and a base on the moon to support long-term habitation and exploration.

Previously, NASA launched the Artemis 2 mission in April, sending four astronauts to orbit the moon and return to Earth. This was a key step before sending humans to land on the moon again for the first time since 1972.
