More than 1.5 million Muslim pilgrims are gradually departing Mount Arafat in Saudi Arabia after completing one of the most significant Hajj rituals. They are heading toward the city of Mina, where the next rites will be held, amid extremely hot weather.
On 27 May 2026, over 1.5 million Muslim pilgrims began to leave Mount Arafat near Mecca, Saudi Arabia, after completing one of the most important rites of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Throughout the day, pilgrims gathered on and around the mountain to pray, seek blessings, and supplicate to God. The ritual at Mount Arafat is considered the spiritual peak of the Hajj.
Despite the intense heat, many pilgrims spent several hours in prayer, seeking forgiveness, mercy, and blessings. Numerous individuals raised their hands in supplication with tears in their eyes, surrounded by an atmosphere of deep faith. After completing the rite, pilgrims proceeded to Muzdalifah by bus, train, or on foot to collect pebbles for the stoning of the pillars ritual in Mina, another key ceremony of the Hajj.
This year, the Hajj rituals are taking place amid tense circumstances in the Middle East. Despite ongoing regional uncertainties, pilgrims from around the world continue to travel to Saudi Arabia to participate in this major annual religious event.
