North Korean state media released images of Kim Jong Un inspecting a large greenhouse farm along the Amnok River in Sinuiju city, accompanied by his daughter Kim Ju-ae, reflecting efforts to advance food security and modern agriculture.
On 1 June 2026 GMT+7, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) published images showing North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visiting a greenhouse farm on the bank of the Amnok River in Sinuiju, northwest of the country, with his daughter Kim Ju-ae accompanying him.
The released images show Kim Jong Un touring the cultivated areas inside the greenhouse and discussing operations and agricultural yields with officials. The project is located near the Amnok River, the natural border between North Korea and China.
Reports indicate this visit comes amid the North Korean government's push to accelerate agricultural development and increase domestic food production after facing ongoing food security challenges over recent years.
At the same time, Kim Ju-ae's appearance has attracted observers' attention, as she has increasingly accompanied the North Korean leader on key missions involving military, economic, and infrastructure development, signaling her rising political prominence.
Sinuiju city, located along the Chinese border, is a strategic area for North Korea's economy and trade, and is one of the key zones where the government focuses on developing modern agricultural projects to boost national food production.
