Iran Condemns US Radar Station Attack as Clear Ceasefire Violation

Iranian authorities have strongly condemned the United States after it attacked a radar station in the southern part of the country, calling the act aggressive and a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.

On 6 June 2026 GMT+7, Iranian officials strongly denounced the US for attacking radar and coastal surveillance stations in the country's south, stating that this attack clearly violated the fragile ceasefire agreement between the two sides.

Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Saturday that the attack targeted facilities in Sirik and Qeshm Island, which are infrastructure responsible for protecting the nation's borders and ensuring the safety of navigation in international waters.

"The ministry considers this attack a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement dated 8 April and a military aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran," the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated.

The statement added that the recent attack demonstrated Washington's "lack of intention to reduce tensions" and was part of a broader pattern of hostile and provocative behavior by the US toward Iran.

Iran's Foreign Ministry concluded by saying that the country's military has responded to the US attack with "careful, decisive, and appropriate" measures.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that the US military struck the radar surveillance station in the area "to prevent further potential maritime attacks" after Iran deployed drones in the Strait of Hormuz.
