Israeli media report that the Israeli military will stop attacking Iran at Donald Trump's request, following Iran's announcement to cease attacks and another phone call between the U.S. leader and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
On 8 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Israel's Channel 12 news agency cited senior Israeli officials reporting that Israel is set to end its attacks on Iran “at Trump's request” after intense clashes that began late Sunday and continued through Monday.
The report further stated that Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon will continue if the Hezbollah group initiates attacks against Israel.
This latest development came after news that U.S. President Donald Trump held another direct phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today, though no details of their discussion have been disclosed yet.
Israeli media reports align with earlier CNN reports stating that Israel will comply with the Trump administration’s request to halt attacks on Iran but will continue operations in southern Lebanon.
However, a source speaking to CNN described the current situation as “extremely fragile,” noting that Iran has threatened to launch another attack on Israel if Israel continues its strikes in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the Iranian military recently announced a halt to its latest attacks on Israel but warned it would retaliate more forcefully and decisively if Israel continues attacks in southern Lebanon, the stronghold of the armed Hezbollah group.
