Trump Warns Netanyahu Could Be Isolated if Attacks on Iran Continue

Donald Trump warned Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli leader, that continuing to attack Iran would isolate himself, just before Israel and Iran ceased their attacks on Monday.

On Monday, 8 June 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump told Axios that he had warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that continuing to attack Iran would isolate Israel in this conflict.

"I told Bibi, 'You should be very careful, or soon you will be fighting alone,'" Trump said to Barak Ravid, Axios journalist and CNN anchor.

Trump added that Israel had given the U.S. very short notice about its attack on Iran on Sunday, which has now ended. However, Netanyahu has also signaled that attacks might resume.

As Trump continues efforts to reach a deal to end the war with Iran, he revealed that five regional countries have urged him to intervene and speak with Netanyahu following the latest attacks.

"These countries are very concerned. They support the deal we are negotiating," Trump said, without specifying which countries had contacted him.

Trump also stated that Iranian officials have contacted him, saying they would stop firing if Israel backs down. "They called us and said there will be no more attacks and asked us to tell Israel not to carry out any more strikes as well," Trump told Axios.
