Iran's foreign minister confirmed that they have not yet made a final decision on any agreement, following Donald Trump's claim that a final point in a deal with Iran had been agreed.
On Thursday, 11 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Esmail Bagaei, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, told IRNA, the Iranian government's news agency, that reports of a final agreement with the U.S. were "mere speculation," adding that Tehran's government has not made any final decisions about any agreement.
Bagaei added that Qatar and Pakistan are actively serving as intermediaries, but the White House and "U.S. actions are affecting the diplomatic process."
"From the beginning, the status of the negotiations has been clear to us, and most of the draft agreement's content has been concluded. However, the Americans keep changing their position," Bagaei said, adding that Iran has "proven it will never compromise on what we have defined as the country's red lines."
"So far, Iran has not reached a final decision regarding any agreement," Bagaei emphasized, also noting that the security of the Strait of Hormuz has declined due to U.S. actions.
Earlier on Thursday, President Donald Trump announced that he had canceled an order to attack Iran that he had mentioned just hours before, claiming that a final point in a deal with Iran had been agreed. Trump also claimed later that Iran's Supreme Leader supports the agreement and would end nuclear ambitions.
