Pakistan Reveals US and Iran Agree on Final Draft of Peace Agreement, Nearing Nuclear Deal Closure

The Prime Minister of Pakistan revealed that the United States and Iran have agreed on the final draft of a peace agreement, with only procedural steps remaining. Meanwhile, Iran acknowledged that it is closer than ever to reaching an agreement.

On 13 June 2026 GMT+7, Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, announced that the United States and Iran have reached a mutually approved final draft of a peace agreement. Currently, only the details of the next steps remain to be determined before moving to actual implementation.

Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States is closer to being finalized than at any previous time. He urged the media to avoid speculating on the agreement's content before any official announcement.

Araghchi noted that both parties are at a critical stage in the negotiations and that tangible progress may occur within the next few days. Intense discussions are ongoing within Iran involving the Supreme National Security Council, senior leaders, and relevant agencies.

The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that the agreement was not the result of US pressure but stemmed from Iran’s firm stance and red lines amid ongoing regional tensions and confrontations. He explained that the MoU has two phases: the first focuses on ending conflicts on all fronts, especially in Lebanon; the second phase will address sensitive political issues including Iran’s nuclear program, possession of highly enriched uranium, and Western sanctions measures.

This latest development marks a significant positive signal in efforts to restore relations between the United States and Iran, after years of continuous tension over nuclear issues and conflicts in the Middle East.
