Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson denied reports that they would sign an agreement with the U.S. this Sunday but did not rule out the possibility that the signing could occur in the next few days.
Tasnim News Agency, a semi-official Iranian outlet, reported on Saturday, 13 Jun 2026 GMT+7, that Esmail Bagaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, confirmed that the signing of the framework agreement between the U.S. and Iran would "not happen tomorrow," despite Pakistan, a key intermediary, signaling that it might take place.
However, Bagaei also stated that he does not rule out the possibility that the signing could happen within the "next few days," emphasizing, "Due to the other party's instability, we must be extremely cautious about any statements related to this process."
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson added, "This is not the final agreement between Iran and the U.S., but merely a memorandum of understanding outlining the main unresolved issues and clarifying that the war will come to an end."
Bagaei, who also serves as the spokesperson for Iran's negotiation team, made these remarks after Pakistani officials predicted that potential terms would be finalized within the "next 24 hours."
Meanwhile, an insider source familiar with the negotiations told CNN that the agreement is expected to be signed electronically by the end of tomorrow, or possibly even earlier.
