Donald Trump confirmed that the signing of the MOU with Iran will still happen today but acknowledged that Israel's attack on Beirut this morning caused a delay in the schedule.
On Sunday, 14 June 2026 GMT+7, U.S. President Donald Trump told Barak Ravid, a reporter from Axios and political and global affairs analyst for CNN, that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Iran is still planned for today, despite Israel recently launching an attack on Beirut.
"Originally, we were scheduled to sign the agreement this morning, but Israel's attack in Beirut caused a delay. I believe the signing will still occur later today, within the next few hours. However, Israel's attack has unsettled the entire situation," Trump said.
Earlier, the U.S. President posted a message expressing dissatisfaction with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's decision to attack Beirut, Lebanon, stating that such an attack should not happen at a time when a cooperative agreement is close to being finalized.
"They called me and said, ‘Sir, Israel is attacking Beirut’ — just one hour before we were to sign the agreement. I could hardly believe it was happening. It's really terrible," Trump told Mr. Ravid, also revealing that he had already informed Netanyahu that he felt "very displeased" with what had occurred.
