Netanyahu Reveals He Does Not Agree with Trump on Every Issue After U.S.-Iran Deal

Benjamin Netanyahu commented for the first time on the memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran, stating that he does not agree with Donald Trump on every issue and emphasized that Israeli troops will not withdraw from Lebanon.

Foreign news agencies reported that Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, spoke out for the first time regarding the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the U.S. and Iran, following earlier statements by senior Israeli officials expressing their positions, including a refusal to withdraw troops from Lebanon.

At the start of Monday evening’s press conference, Netanyahu tried to avoid directly addressing the agreement, instead emphasizing what he described as a major success of Israel’s military operations against Iran and across the Middle East region.

"Whether an agreement is reached or not, Iran will never possess nuclear weapons — not today, not tomorrow, as long as I remain Israel's Prime Minister, this will never happen," he said. "The fight is not over... We must remain alert, strong, and resolute in defending ourselves as necessary."

Additionally, Netanyahu clearly stated that Israel has no intention of withdrawing forces from southern Lebanon, the Gaza Strip, or Syria. "We will remain deployed in those security zones as long as necessary to protect our country."

During a media question-and-answer session, Netanyahu admitted there is still uncertainty regarding the agreement. "We still do not know what the final form of this agreement will be."

When asked whether the agreement was achieved contrary to his stance, Netanyahu emphasized his long-standing relationship with Trump, noting that he and U.S. President Donald Trump do not always agree on every matter, and such disagreements can even occur within "the closest of families."

"President Trump and I do not always see eye to eye on every issue," Netanyahu said. "He is the President of the United States, and I am the Prime Minister of Israel. I have a responsibility to Israel’s security interests, and that must be managed wisely."

"Wise management requires extensive experience and a deep familiarity with the American political landscape, which I believe I am handling in the best way possible," Netanyahu added.
