Donald Trump once again threatened Iran, implying that the United States is prepared to strike again if Iran does not comply with the agreement, while both parties are about to sign a memorandum of understanding this Friday.
On Wednesday, 17 Jun 2026 GMT+7, U.S. President Donald Trump hinted that the U.S. might resume attacks on Iran if necessary, as both countries prepare to formally sign a draft memorandum of understanding (MOU) to begin a 60-day timeframe for negotiating the technical terms of a final agreement.
"This is a long and fairly detailed memorandum of understanding that will lead to a normal contract. I think they will comply, but if they don't—well, you know, it's okay. We just have to start the process again, and we will never lose," Trump warned during a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier on Wednesday, Trump warned that if Iran does not comply with the agreement, the U.S. would "go back to bombing them right in the head immediately."
However, the U.S. president is growing impatient with the conflict and wants the war to end, as the midterm elections approach, coupled with domestic oil prices still soaring above $4 per gallon.
When asked by reporters if he was confident the agreement, which he said was in its final stages, would ultimately be signed this Friday, Trump replied, "You never know about agreements, right? But you’ll find out soon. I think it will succeed. They want to sign. They want to return to normal life."
