Iranian Representative Claims Draft Temporary Sanctions Exemption Agreement Completed

A member of Iran's negotiation team claims the draft agreement to temporarily exempt U.S. sanctions targeting Iranian oil has been completed and will be implemented soon.

Fars News Agency, a semi-official Iranian media outlet, reported that a member of the Iranian delegation negotiating with the U.S. in Switzerland revealed the draft agreement to temporarily exempt U.S. sanctions restricting Iran's oil and petroleum exports has been finalized.

Hossein Ghorbanzadeh, an economic expert on the Iranian delegation, stated that the sanctions exemption measures will enter the implementation phase soon.

Ghorbanzadeh also noted that most negotiations focus on complying with Article 13 of the memorandum of understanding signed by the U.S. and Iran last week, laying the groundwork for discussions on other terms of the agreement.

Ghorbanzadeh revealed the main plan centers on five key points: ending wars on all fronts, lifting blockades, reopening the straits, temporarily exempting oil and petroleum sanctions, and unfreezing Iran's seized assets.

However, Ghorbanzadeh added that other provisions of the memorandum will not move to implementation until the issue of ending the war in Lebanon is resolved.
