Miracle! Mother Carries 18-Day-Old Baby Rescued After 32 Hours Under Earthquake Rubble

A miracle amid the tragedy of Venezuela's major earthquake occurred when rescuers successfully freed a mother and her 18-day-old baby from beneath collapsed building rubble after being trapped for more than 32 hours.

Rescuers and volunteers worked together to extract Mrs. Dayana Patiño and her 18-day-old son, Juan David Trujillo Patiño, from the rubble of a collapsed building in La Guaira. The rescue was met with cheers from the rescue team. Afterward, both mother and child were taken to a hospital in Caracas, where doctors reported their conditions as stable.

In addition to the mother and infant, reports confirm several other survivors found under the rubble at various locations. Among them were a father and his teenage son, who were safely rescued by U.S. rescue personnel despite suffering weakness from lack of food and water. The rescue was greeted with applause and cheers from both rescuers and the public following the operation.

Although the chances of finding survivors decrease with each passing hour after the critical first 72 hours, rescue teams from multiple countries continue their tireless search. Currently, over 2,200 international rescue workers are involved in the mission. The death toll from the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes has reached at least 1,450, with more than 3,200 injured and over 51,000 reported missing.
