Donald Trump posted a message confirming that US and Iranian officials will meet this Tuesday after both sides announced a halt to days of attacks and agreed to return to negotiations.
On Monday, 29 June 2026, US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that the US will participate in talks with Iran in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday (30 June), amid renewed tensions following several days of reciprocal attacks between Washington and Tehran.
"Iran has requested the meeting, which will take place tomorrow in Doha!" Trump's post stated.
Trump's latest move came after the US and Iran engaged in four days of retaliatory attacks through the past weekend, before US officials revealed on Monday that both sides have agreed to ease tensions "for now" and that negotiations are proceeding as planned.
However, Iran has not confirmed whether the talks Trump referred to will actually take place. Earlier, Iran's chief negotiator, Qasem Garibabadi, told the media that no schedule has been set for the technical working group's meetings this week.
