Trump Reports Crypto Income Exceeding 45 Billion Baht, Faces Conflict of Interest Scrutiny

US government asset disclosure documents state that Donald Trump earned over $1.4 billion from digital currency crypto businesses in 2025 after pursuing policies supporting digital assets, drawing questions about conflicts of interest.

On 1 July 2026, the US Office of Government Ethics released the annual asset and income disclosures of President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance. The 927-page document revealed that Trump earned more than $1.4 billion (over 45.5 billion baht) from cryptocurrency businesses.

The documents state that most income came from World Liberty Financial, a crypto business co-founded by Trump and his son, generating over $500 million (approximately 16.25 billion baht). Additionally, he earned $635 million (around 20.64 billion baht) from sales of the meme coin "$TRUMP." This shows that digital asset income has become Trump's main revenue source, surpassing the real estate business that was the family’s wealth foundation.

This disclosure has triggered scrutiny over conflicts of interest, since upon resuming his second presidential term in January 2025, Trump continuously pushed policies supporting the crypto industry, announcing goals to make the US the global crypto hub. Moreover, his administration established the National Strategic Crypto Reserve Fund to support digital asset stability and held the first crypto conference at the White House.

Furthermore, in February 2025, the US Securities and Exchange Commission dropped legal action against Coinbase, a major US crypto trading platform previously accused of operating as an unlicensed securities broker during the prior administration. Critics have questioned whether Trump's policies may benefit industries where he holds business interests.
