Dmitry Medvedev, former President of Russia, arrived in Tehran, Iran, as a special envoy of President Vladimir Putin to pay respects to the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

On 3 July 2026, Iranian news agencies reported that Dmitry Medvedev, former Russian President and currently Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, traveled to Tehran to pay respects to the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iranian government television stated that Medvedev came as a special envoy of President Vladimir Putin. During his visit, he met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
