Iranian media revealed that a new wave of U.S. attacks caused one telecommunications company official near the Persian Gulf to be killed and two others injured, while explosions were also reported on Qeshm Island.
On 12 July 2026, Iranian government media reported that an employee of a telecommunications company died in an attack in Hormozgan Province in the south, bordering the Persian Gulf, as Iran and the U.S. resumed retaliatory strikes amid their conflict over the Strait of Hormuz.
“Following an enemy attack on Farur Island in Bandar Lengeh, an employee of Iran’s Mobile Communications company was killed while on duty, and two colleagues were injured,” reported the IRNA news agency.
Meanwhile, IRIB, Iran's government news agency, reported multiple explosions near Qeshm Island, located close to the Strait of Hormuz, which houses important Iranian military bases and underground missile launch sites.
Additionally, Fars News Agency, a semi-official Iranian source, reported that explosions were heard near Bandar Abbas, another Iranian port city.
On another front, Kuwait's Ministry of Defense revealed that three land border checkpoints and an offshore oil rig were attacked during the renewed clashes between the United States and Iran.
“Three northern land border checkpoints were targeted by cowardly attacks, causing material damage,” the statement said without specifying the attackers, adding that “an offshore oil rig belonging to Kuwait Oil was struck by enemy drones, resulting in material damage and injury to one worker.”
