Israel carried out three more attacks on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing 12 people, including six members of the same family in Gaza City.
On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, doctors in the Gaza Strip reported that Israel struck various areas of Gaza three times, resulting in at least 12 Palestinian deaths, including six members of the same family in Gaza City.
The family lived in the Al-Sabra neighborhood in western Gaza City. A video posted online showed their apartment on fire after being targeted by Israeli strikes.
The younger brother of Firas Al-Masri told the BBC that his brother died from burns along with his wife Salzabil and their four children: Fayyal, Salma, Amira, and Naeem.
Besides this family, four others died in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Al-Samar area in central Gaza City, and two more died in an attack in the Al-Zahra neighborhood in southern Gaza City.
The Israeli military said the Al-Sabra strike targeted Hamas officials and is currently assessing the results of that attack; they made no comment on the two subsequent strikes.
Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect last October, Israel has continued to strike Gaza, resulting in at least 1,168 Palestinian deaths.
During the same period, four Israeli soldiers have died from attacks by Palestinian armed groups in Gaza.
Tameem Al-Keethan, spokesperson for the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, condemned the escalation of Israeli military attacks in Gaza on Tuesday. Between 13-20 July, at least 57 Palestinians were killed in strikes on residential buildings, tent camps for displaced persons, and other densely populated areas.
Al-Keethan added that among the dead, 34 were killed in areas “far from” the Yellow Line, the boundary in Gaza controlled by Israeli forces.
"Nine months after the ceasefire agreement was announced, there is still no safe place in Gaza for Palestinians," Al-Keethan said.
