Reports stated that on Monday, regions from the northeastern Tohoku area to the southwestern Kyushu region faced extreme heat, particularly in the central parts of the country. Koshu City in Yamanashi Prefecture recorded a high of 39.4 degrees Celsius, among the highest temperatures of the day.
The weather forecast indicates that the intense heat will continue in many areas. Kumagaya City in Saitama Prefecture may reach a high of 40 degrees Celsius, while Nagoya and Maebashi cities are expected to hit 39 degrees Celsius. Saitama and Kofu cities anticipate highs of 38 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Agency has issued heatstroke warnings in 42 of Japan's 47 prefectures, covering areas from Tohoku to Okinawa. The government requests that residents use air conditioning when needed, drink sufficient water and electrolytes, and avoid prolonged outdoor activities to reduce the risk of heatstroke, which can be life-threatening.
