The Ukrainian leader revealed that he met with Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday and discussed acquiring the 'Patriot' air defense system as well as reviving diplomatic efforts to end the war.
On Tuesday, 28 Jul 2026 GMT+7, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed he spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump about procuring Patriot missile defense systems for Kyiv and restoring diplomatic approaches during a "good meeting" at the White House.
"Thank you for everything we have done together to protect Ukrainian lives and advance peace," Zelensky posted on the platform X following his discussion with Trump.
During the meeting, both parties discussed licenses for producing Patriot missile systems, which Trump had mentioned earlier, as well as reigniting diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine after the process stalled due to the outbreak of the Iran war.
"It is important that the diplomatic process is renewed once again. Our team will prepare the details for the next communications," Zelensky said.
Additionally, the Ukrainian leader expressed condolences to Trump on the day of Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral and praised Graham as a “true friend of Ukraine.”
