On Tuesday, 28 July 2026, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington, D.C. Netanyahu described the meeting as “one of the best discussions” between them, with plans for close coordination on Iran and other security matters.
“It was a full discussion about cooperation, mutual support, and a shared understanding of the goal to ensure that Iran will not have nuclear weapons, along with other objectives,” Netanyahu said in Hebrew in a video released by his office following the secret meeting with Trump.
Netanyahu left the White House at 12:25 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) after talks that began at 11:03 a.m., according to White House reports. Senior officials from both countries attended the meeting, which was closed to press observation.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt described the discussion as “positive and productive.”
Earlier, Israeli officials briefed on the meeting between Netanyahu and Trump echoed the White House’s view, describing it as “a very positive meeting held in a good atmosphere with senior cabinet members.”
“The strong chemistry between the two leaders was very clear,” an official said, adding that both leaders reaffirmed their shared goal that “under no circumstances will Iran be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.”
Additionally, the two discussed the partnership between Israel and the U.S., describing it as “stronger than ever, including various opportunities in the Middle East region.”
