Video footage has emerged showing a terrifying shooting at a burger restaurant in Idaho, USA, resulting in 3 deaths and 7 injuries, several of them critical. Police have now identified the suspect and are urgently investigating the motive.
A shocking video of the incident at the In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, USA, recorded by an eyewitness, was released. The clip, captured by a driver across the street, shows a man dressed in black holding a rifle resembling an AR walking toward a white car, opening the driver's door and the trunk, and taking items from inside. The recorder immediately drove away, fearing the suspect was arming himself further.
Len Cohn, 34, who was nearby, described seeing a man with a rifle emerge from the restaurant's drive-thru, then another man with a handgun firing back at the shooter. It was later revealed that the second armed man seen during the In-N-Out Burger shooting in Idaho was not an accomplice but a legally armed civilian who tried to distract the gunman to prevent more victims, according to police.
Authorities have now identified the suspect as 24-year-old Chad Williams, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound found near the restaurant. Investigators believe he acted alone with no accomplices but continue to probe the motive behind the attack.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has requested the public to submit any photos or videos related to the incident to assist in the ongoing investigation.
The In-N-Out Burger branch involved opened on 24 July as part of the burger chain's expansion from California into Idaho. The shocking shooting occurred roughly one week after the restaurant opened. Reports confirm a female employee who was shot later died.
