
The mayor of Moscow identified the Saturday night explosion at a downtown restaurant as a brutal act of terrorism. Meanwhile, Russia remains in the process of investigating, and no one has claimed responsibility yet.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin posted on social media Sunday regarding the restaurant explosion in Moscow, stating that a brutal terrorist attack occurred in the city yesterday, resulting in fatalities. He added that the injured are currently receiving comprehensive medical care in city hospitals.
Russian state news agencies, citing local officials, reported that the explosion took place Saturday evening inside a restaurant near Kudrinskaya Square in central Moscow. The blast killed one security officer, one customer, and the female suicide attacker, totaling three fatalities.
The Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee revealed that at least 21 people were injured by the explosion caused by a detonated device inside the restaurant.
Meanwhile, the Moscow Investigative Committee stated that authorities are urgently investigating the cause and those responsible for the attack. However, as of Sunday afternoon local time, Russian officials have not disclosed further details, and no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
