A video widely shared on social media shows a massive fire at a rubber warehouse in Qingdao, China, where enormous plumes of black smoke rose into the sky, visible from many areas and causing alarm among residents.
The video circulating on social media captures intense flames engulfing the warehouse building, while thick black smoke blankets the sky above Qingdao. The incident occurred around 17:00 local time on the past Sunday. Even passengers on passing airplanes could clearly see the smoke from the fire.
Local media reported that the warehouse belongs to Qingdao Xiangyu Express Supply Chain Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Xiamen Xiangyu, and serves as a storage and service center for rubber within the company’s nationwide logistics network.
After receiving the alert, firefighters with multiple fire trucks rushed to the scene to control the situation, spraying water to contain the flames amid continuing plumes of black smoke rising from the warehouse.
Preliminary reports from Chinese authorities confirm no injuries or fatalities, and no one was trapped inside the building. The cause of the fire remains under thorough investigation.
